Title of position: Structural Engineer Position type: Full time Pay range: DOE Location: Columbus, Indiana SUMMARY: FORCE Construction Co., Inc./FORCE Design, Inc. is seeking an experienced, highly motivated Structural Engineer to join our team. This position is responsible for the interpretation of design criteria, related structural analysis, and the creation of permit and construction drawings and specifications. The Structural Engineer will coordinate with construction management and field personnel, suppliers, vendors and other design team members to work on several projects at the same time while ensuring timely completion of each project deliverable. Essential Job Skills/Qualifications 4-year civil or structural engineering degree or equivalent technical training and related experience. Experience in reinforced concrete, steel, and wood design and analysis of foundations, concrete or steel structures. Professional Engineer certification preferred. Familiarity with all applicable building codes. Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with both engineers and non-technical individuals. Ability to work well with others. Knowledge of construction methods and materials. Strong organization, multi-tasking and time management skills. Self-motivation and attention to details. Strong computer skills, including CAD & REVIT. Exceptional problem-solving skills and strong work ethics. Job Responsibilities Analyze, design, and create proposals through construction documents for various structures and structural elements. Coordinate drawings with other disciplines. Develop, manage, and implement office standards for structural documentation in the Revit platform. Respond to field questions, including making on-site visits. Work with vendors and subcontractors on specialty foundations and unique steel details Working Conditions Physical demands: Some lifting may be required (up to 50lbs), walking, standing, sitting, talking/hearing, keyboarding, writing and reading. Environmental conditions: Work primarily performed in a controlled indoor environment.
